My name is Aliyah Nelson, and I have a love affair with coffee.
It helped power me through college, and it helps me every single morning to get through the day.
I’m one of those don’t-talk-to-me-until-I’ve-had-my-coffee type of people.
It’s led to some discoveries about myself.
How I like my coffee brewed, what flavors I can’t handle, and most importantly, how to preserve coffee to maintain the optimal flavor no matter what.
I haven’t worked in coffee shops or been a barista at a fancy restaurant or anything like that—I’m just a girl that loves her morning (and afternoon… and evening) coffee, who doesn’t like to compromise.
I made The Coffee Tutor to show everyone that you can make good coffee with lesser-grade equipment, if you know what you’re doing.
Here, you’re going to find a bunch of information on how to select the right coffee maker, tips and tricks on making the perfect cup of coffee, and the adoption of my philosophy that it doesn’t have to be gourmet to be excellent.
I’m here to teach you everything you need to know before you invest in your coffee equipment, and to point out the not-so-essential pieces of coffee gear that other people will try to sell you on.
Let’s keep things budget-friendly and enjoy a cup.
